What 3D printers does Formd work with?

Any printer that accepts STL files — Bambu Lab, Prusa, Creality, Ender, Anycubic, and more. We export standard STL format.

Can I sell prints made from Formd designs?

Free tier is for personal use. Pro tier ($19/mo) includes a commercial license — sell as many prints as you want.

What if the design doesn't print well?

Every design gets a Print-Ready Score. We check wall thickness, overhangs, and bed contact. Pro users get Auto-Fix to resolve issues automatically.

How is Formd different from Thingiverse?

Thingiverse has pre-made designs. Formd generates custom designs from your description — exact dimensions, specific use case, made for you.

Terms of Service - Formd | User Agreement

1Acceptance of Terms

By accessing and using Formd ("Service"), you accept and agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the Service.

These Terms apply to all visitors, users, and others who access or use the Service. By using the Service, you also agree to our Privacy Policy.

2Description of Service

Formd provides AI-powered 3D design generation. Users can describe objects in natural language and receive downloadable STL files suitable for 3D printing. Our service includes:

Text-to-3D model generation using AI
Parametric template customization
STL, 3MF, and STEP file exports
Print-Ready Score analysis and auto-fix tools
Design storage and organization
API access for developers (on applicable plans)

3User Accounts

When you create an account, you must provide accurate and complete information. You are responsible for:

Maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials
All activities that occur under your account
Notifying us immediately of any unauthorized access
Ensuring your account information remains current

You may not share your account credentials or allow others to access your account. We reserve the right to suspend accounts that violate these terms.

4Acceptable Use

You agree NOT to use the Service to:

Generate designs for weapons, firearm components, or dangerous items
Create content that infringes on intellectual property rights
Produce designs intended to harm, harass, or deceive others
Violate any applicable laws or regulations
Attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, or hack the Service
Circumvent rate limits or abuse system resources
Resell or redistribute generated designs claiming them as your own creations (without modification)

We reserve the right to remove content and terminate accounts that violate these policies without prior notice.

5Intellectual Property

Your Designs

• You retain ownership of designs you create
• Free tier: Personal use license
• Pro/Team: Full commercial use license
• You can sell printed objects from your designs

Our Property

• Formd platform and technology
• Base templates and design systems
• Branding, logos, and trademarks
• AI models and generation algorithms

By using our Service, you grant Formd a non-exclusive license to use anonymized design patterns for improving our AI models. This does not include your specific designs or identifiable information.

6Payment and Subscriptions

Pro and Team subscriptions are billed monthly or annually through Stripe.

Billing: Charges occur at the start of each billing period
Cancellation: Cancel anytime; access continues until period end
Refunds: Pro-rated refunds available within 14 days of initial purchase
Price Changes: 30 days notice before any price increases
Failed Payments: 7-day grace period before account downgrade

7API Usage

API access is available on Pro and Team plans. API usage is subject to:

Rate limits based on your subscription tier
Fair use policies—excessive usage may be throttled
API keys must be kept confidential
Attribution required for public-facing integrations
No reselling of API access

8Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO:

Warranties of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose
Guarantees that generated designs will be printable on all 3D printers
Guarantees of continuous, uninterrupted service availability
Warranties regarding the structural integrity of printed objects

Users are responsible for verifying design suitability before printing critical or load-bearing components.

9Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, FORMD SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO:

Loss of profits, data, or business opportunities
Damages arising from printed object failures
Costs of substitute goods or services
Any damages exceeding the amount paid to Formd in the preceding 12 months

10Termination

We may terminate or suspend your account immediately, without prior notice, for:

Violation of these Terms of Service
Fraudulent or illegal activity
Non-payment of subscription fees
Extended periods of inactivity (free accounts: 12 months)

Upon termination, you may request an export of your designs within 30 days. After this period, data may be permanently deleted.

11Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these terms at any time. For significant changes, we will provide at least 30 days notice via email or in-app notification.

Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms. If you disagree with changes, you may terminate your account.
